Lifeguard Certification

Winter Break Lifeguard Course

This 40-hour course teaches you the skills to become a certified American Red Cross lifeguard (r.17). This course covers the duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard and how to carry them out in a professional manner. It covers rescues, first aid, CPR / AED, and practical skills.

​Full Certification Lifeguard Course:

 

 This is a blended learning class that will consist of online, eLearning material as well as in-person learning.  Students will be given a link to log in to the online content which must be completed before the first

in-person class.  

To enroll you must be 15+ years old and able to pass a standardized swim test*. Certification exams and skills testing are offered upon completion of the course. Register at the service desk to receive course information and syllabus.

Members: $250 + Tax

Non-Members: $300 + Tax

3/25-3/31 - Complete eLearning

4/1, 4/3-4/5 - In-person class 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day

Thursday, 4/6 - TEST DAY 9:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Members: $275.00 + tax

Babysitting Course

Ages: 11 - 15

Babysitting Basics: This online babysitting certification course helps those ages 11 and older prepare to become babysitters. With information on providing basic care to infants and children, what to do during an emergency, how to choose age-appropriate activities, and recognizing and handling specific behaviors, this class can help you gain the skills and confidence needed for babysitting. The course takes approximately 4 hours to complete and includes a final exam. Upon successful completion, you will receive a printable certificate. Babysitter's Training: This in-person childcare certification course is designed for those ages 11 to 15, and builds on the skills in our Babysitting Basics class. With leadership development, information on building your business, tips for keeping children safe, helping children behave, basic first aid, and more, it's the next step in your training.
